After 2 nights away with my mum celebrating her birthday, on my return I was greeted with the biggest running hug I’ve ever had from Mr 8, it brought me to my knees and I hope it’s a moment I remember for many years to come.

I’m holding a vision for our future and what that looks like. Having my husband around more than he currently is, I sense is going to be of deep importance for us all and for the boys now and into the future. It’s been challenging to hold this vision whilst remaining in the present moment, not feeling despondent with the timing of things outside of our control whilst having gratitude for where we find ourselves and all that we currently have.

I wonder what you have been doing to nourish yourself? Or if I could ask you that question to ponder…. what are some things you could do, in your days and week that would help ease some of the overwhelm. These will be unique to you. They might be completely different to your friend or sister.

For those of you who don’t know my background I always knew I wanted to work with children and my very first job at 16 years of age was a nanny for a lovely family that became a big part of my teen years and early twenties.

I’ve been sitting with some of my WHY’s lately, Reflecting on my business, my work in the world and what it is that I offer to parents. Why I do what I do? Why I have a deep passion to support parents?

As mamma’s I really believe we are the heartbeat of the family, the leaders who set the energetics of the home. If we are not tending to our needs, and nurturing and nourishing ourselves, it’s not so easy to pour into anyone else’s cups.

There’s joy and grief present at this time of year for me. Spring is literally blooming, new life, endings and beginnings are in then air. Birthdays often bring reflection, and as we near the births of our 2 boys and what would have been the birth of our third, it’s all swirling inside.

The countdown is on. Our first born’s birthday is just around the corner and there are some big feelings coursing through his little system.

So we’ve landed back home after our week adventuring north in the sun. It was a full mix of delightful connected family time, sunshine, new experiences and some overwhelm sprinkled in.

What a week! As we prepare to embark on a week of holiday (or adventure as I now call it) for our little fam of four; to connect, adventure and soak up some family time, I’ve been parenting and holding space for all the feelings.

The boys are (for now) playing contently outside. I can see them back and forth to the shed. They are playing “construction” which basically means they are slowly emptying the contents of my husband’s shed and taking it to their cubby area, and without doubt, when it falls apart, because nine times out of ten it does, (it only takes one to decide they’re done with the game), none of these items will be retuned!!

IAn idea has been brewing... I’ve been wanting a way to connect with you on a more personal level. A way to connect in with my purpose and passion, to share the stories and realities of what it’s like for me parenting two wildly unique boys, choosing a path of life learning, tending to my own needs alongside theirs, all whilst honouring their varied and sometimes challenging to be with emotional expressions.

It’s always a challenge meeting everyone’s needs, mine alongside theirs, but something I continue to dance with is knowing that when I’m taking care of me, I’m taking better care of them.

On a recent camping trip, we experienced a BIG moment to work through after an incident involving Mr 5.

I had a moment in my parenting last week where I noticed the beliefs I'd been hanging onto around making an offer to Mr 7 to watch a screen.

Matresence changes us, but the evolution & growth I’ve undergone in the past 7 years of life as a mother has been nothing like I imagined.
